Function
The successful candidate must be a strong leader with good organizational skills. Ability to act in a Chief Engineering role to review, direct and assess technical decisions is a must. The applicant must be willing to travel approximately 25-40 percent of the time to develop customer relationships. The incumbent will have acted in a Product Engineering role at some point in their career, having shown an ability to take a product from conception to production. And understanding of core engineering principles is a must, with primary emphasis on strength of materials, vibration, dynamics, and statics. He/She will be expected to have the vision and energy to lead the Rotary Wing engineering group to “world class” status in product design and analysis. The candidate will be expected to work closely with other organizational groups within the company, including Purchasing, Marketing and Sales, Value Stream and Manufacturing. An understanding of LORD’s internal process is a must, with the incumbent showing an innate ability to identify non value added to tasks and addressing these through procedural modifications in the design, validation, and product launch phases of a project. The candidate will be expected to continue the strong work in Design to Cost and help the group advance in this area and in manufacturing producibility.
Mandatory Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with 5-8 years experience in Mechanical Engineering.
Non-Mandatory Qualifications
Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering with 5-8 in Mechanical Engineering.
